Privacy Policy & Data Protection

At MousyTools, your privacy is not just a policy—it is the foundation of our engineering architecture.

Governed by: MousyDev
Jurisdiction: GDPR & Global Best Practices

1. The Zero-Upload Architectural Guarantee

Unlike conventional online media processors, MousyTools does not upload your files, photos, code snippets, tokens, or documents to any remote server or cloud database.

All operations—including metadata sanitization, EXIF and GPS stripping, neural AI segmentation, format conversion (AVIF/WebP), image compression, JWT decoding, WCAG contrast verification, and cURL generation—execute 100% locally inside your device's browser memory (RAM) via modern Web APIs (HTML5 Canvas, WebAssembly, Web Workers, and WebCrypto).

Because your files never leave your computer or smartphone, it is technically impossible for us or any third party to intercept, inspect, catalog, store, or sell your images or personal data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • No File Data: We never receive, store, or log the images, photos, or files you load into our tools.
  • No User Accounts: You do not need to register, create a username, or provide an email address to use any utility on MousyTools.
  • No Sensitive Credentials: In tools like our JWT Decoder or cURL Converter, cryptographic keys and tokens are parsed strictly in local browser JavaScript.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

MousyTools uses minimal, non-intrusive client-side storage mechanisms:

  • Local Storage (mousy_lang): Saves your selected language preference (English or Spanish) so you don't have to toggle it on every page visit. It contains no personally identifiable information.
  • Session Cache: Standard browser caching to speed up the loading of CSS, JavaScript, and WebAssembly modules.

4. Analytics & Performance Metrics

To understand overall site performance and identify broken tools, we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager G-H1HNPPQ9VT). This service collects aggregate, anonymized technical telemetry such as:

  • Browser type and operating system version.
  • Referring website and general geographic region (country/city level).
  • Page view counts and navigation flow between tools.

IP anonymization is enabled by default. This data is used exclusively to optimize user experience and site speed.

5. Third-Party Advertising & Disclosures (Google AdSense)

To keep all utilities 100% free forever without subscriptions or paywalls, MousyTools displays advertising served by trusted third-party networks, including Google AdSense.

  • Google and third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or through the Network Advertising Initiative at aboutads.info.

6. External Links

Our website may contain links to external resources, documentation, or social profiles (such as our GitHub repositories or portfolio at mousydev.website). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external sites.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Under data protection frameworks such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users possess rights regarding data access, erasure, and objection. Because we do not store, process, or maintain personal user records or files on our servers, there is no personal data held in our systems to access or delete.

8. Policy Updates & Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect technological improvements or regulatory changes. Any modifications will be posted immediately on this page with an updated timestamp.
